Cathechesis is a continual process of growing in the faith.  Catechesis, too, is an active living of our faith. Through Catechesis, we hope to become closer to God and with each other.

Our Eastern Catholic Church makes it clear that it is primarily the parents' responsibility to teach their children the Christian faith in which we believe. The Church further directs us, the Parish of believers, to provide help by offering an opportunity to supplement the catechism (religion formation) taught within the home.  We invite you to register today for weekly Sunday instruction with the Parish Family of St. Stephen.  Every child, ages 4 - Grade 12, is welcome, encouraged and expected to attend Eastern Christian Formation classes on a consistent and regular basis.

REGISTRATION:  Pre-school  (age 4) through High School (Grade 12): Sunday, September 16 and 23, after the 10 A.M. Divine Liturgy.

COMMISSIONING OF CATECHISTS:
TBA

PRESCHOOL/KINDERGARTEN Classes:  "Together with God"

GRADES 1 through 8:  GOD WITH US Series, God with Us Publications, McKees Rock, PA.

CLASSES BEGIN (Grades: Pre-school - Grade 8):
TBA   11:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M. Classes meet every Sunday, October - May.

BYZANTEENS (ages 13 - 18):

The GOD WITH US  series, and Eastern based Catechesis developed by the religious within our own Eparchies and Eastern Churches, offers some of the instructional material that is used in our primary classes. GOD WITH US challenges all of us to grow and deepen in the Eastern Faith of our Fathers!

Through Eastern Catholic Formation (ECF), our children learn more about the world seen in the light of faith.  They are to experience the life of the Church as a Community of believers, of which they are a part.

They will study the elements of Holy Tradition, including: Sacred Scripture, Divine Liturgy, prayer life, Saints and Martyrs, and the History of our Byzantine Ruthenian Catholic Church of the East. They  will participate in many special events throughout the Liturgical year.
